Drivers who took car crash photos in trouble
British police are taking action against four motorists for taking photos of a crash scene while driving. This is the first time "rubberneckers" in Britain will face legal action. Four rubberneckers slowed down to photo the crash. Drivers behind them had to brake so they wouldn't hit the rubberneckers. Police said the rubberneckers were irresponsible. They did not drive carefully nor think about the safety of other motorists. Nobody was injured in the crash, but the rubberneckers made other drivers slow down. Police said the rubberneckers "showed no regard for their own or of other people's safety as they used their mobile phones to record or video the wreckage". The rubberneckers were not in control of their car. The police said: "One of the causes of serious injury and fatal collisions is the use of mobile telephones." They told drivers to lock their phones away when driving. |
