The LA Times survey found that the members after by for in of out up with the academy were 94 per cent white, largely male, after by for in of out up with an average age after by for in of out up with 62. Critics say this means there is too little diversity after by for in of out up with the Oscars. Civil rights campaigner Al Sharpton was one after by for in of out up with the biggest critics after by for in of out up with the Academy. He complained that: "The movie industry is like the Rocky Mountains - the higher you get, the whiter it gets."
