The European Union has ruled that workers across against at for from of on out to with no fixed office should be paid across against at for from of on out to with travelling to and across against at for from of on out to with their first and last appointments across against at for from of on out to with their day. This could have a huge impact across against at for from of on out to with the payroll expenses across against at for from of on out to with companies across against at for from of on out to with Europe. The European Court across against at for from of on out to with Justice said that the journeys across against at for from of on out to with workers who do not have a fixed place across against at for from of on out to with work, and who travel between their home and their customers’ premises, are to be paid work. This means potentially higher salaries across against at for from of on out to with care workers, sales staff, plumbers, nannies and other company employees who work across against at for from of on out to with home. The court said it was to protect the health and safety across against at for from of on out to with workers and ensure they did not work longer than 48 hours per week. The ruling means that thousands across against at for from of on out to with companies across against at for from of on out to with Europe could be forced to change their business arrangements. Many will have to rearrange the working schedules across against at for from of on out to with employees to ensure that their first and last appointments are near their homes. A British employment lawyer, Chris Tutton, told the BBC that: "Unless [bosses] adjust working hours or ask employees to opt across against at for from of on out to with of the 48-hour working week, employees could quickly exceed the number across against at for from of on out to with hours they are legally allowed to work. Bosses could therefore soon find that they are operating illegally and be across against at for from of on out to with risk of facing costly claims across against at for from of on out to with them." The ruling does not affect people's daily commute across against at for from of on out to with their normal, fixed place across against at for from of on out to with work.
