A British princess has made her debut as a model on the cover of the magazine Vogue. Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, posed for the 100-year anniversary of the world-famous style magazine. The June issue will have the photographs of the 34-year-old royal. They were taken by the famous photographer Josh Olins in the English countryside. Two of the pictures will be on display at London's National Portrait Gallery in its Vogue 100 exhibition. Kate is following in the footsteps of her famous mother-in-law. Princess Diana was on the cover of the magazine four times.
A spokesman for the duchess spoke about her happiness. He said: "The duchess was delighted to play a part in celebrating the centenary of an institution that has given a platform to some of the most renowned photographers." He added: "She would like to thank Josh Olins for being such a pleasure to work with….She hopes that people appreciate the portraits with the sense of relaxed fun with which they were taken." Mr Olins spoke about the photo shoot. He said: "This was the duchess's first sitting for a magazine and she was a joy to work with. A natural."
