The Reading / Listening - Level 0

Police in Sudan arrested the world's most wanted people smuggler, Mered Medhanie. His nickname is 'The General'. He caused hundreds of migrant deaths. Migrants are people looking for a better life in another country. Police found him in a secret hideout in Sudan's capital city Khartoum.

Mered could go to prison for a long time. He smuggled thousands of migrants into Europe. The price was $5,500 per person. It was a dangerous journey. Mered did not care about people's lives. Police said he wanted to be very rich from people smuggling. His plan was to move to Sweden. His wife lives there.
