Korean boy band BTS No.1 in US album chart
A Korean band got to number one in the U.S. album charts for the first time. The band BTS debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with their album, "Love Yourself: Tear". They released their album on May 18. It sold 135,000 copies in one week. The album is the second top-10 hit for K-pop. The first was also by BTS. The group thanked fans by tweeting: "It's wonderful and very overwhelming. Thank you everyone....We will keep doing our best." BTS started in 2013. They quickly became a big success in Korea with their debut song. They won several new artist awards. Their popularity spread and they got many fans in Japan and the USA.
