READING:
Scorpions stung 500 people in Egypt. Heavy rain brought hundreds of scorpions into people's homes. Many people went to hospital. Doctors gave them injections. Some people were in a lot of pain and had fever. A weather expert asked farmers to be careful in their fields. He also asked people to be careful of snakes.
The scorpions are Arabian fat-tailed scorpions. Their nickname is "man-killer". They can kill a human in an hour. They live in the mountains. The weather expert asked people to wear shoes. He said scorpion numbers would go down after the rain dried up. Less than one per cent of the world's scorpions are deadly.
