Millions people around the world enjoy Japanese manga and anime. Popular series such as One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball have fans many countries. Now, this global popularity is leading to a new theme park. Saudi Arabia and France are planning an attraction based the series Dragon Ball Z. It will be built near Paris and will cost $7 billion. It will take several years to build and will be one Europe's largest amusement parks. The idea the park began Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met France's President Emmanuel Macron Saudi Arabia in 2024. They discovered they both had a passion manga and liked Dragon Ball Z.
The project will benefit the economies both countries. It will create 22,000 jobs France. It will also help Saudi Arabia move away relying on oil. As part of its plan to reduce its reliance the fossil fuel, Saudi has been investing tourism, entertainment, sports and other industries. President Macron said the park would be "a new global destination". A spokesperson the French government said the park was "a project the scale of Disneyland". The Politico website reported that the park would also focus green issues. It wrote: "The development is also expected to include 50,000 square metres green spaces dedicated to biodiversity."
