Cameroon 1 Denmark 2 (19th June, 2010)

Denmark came from a goal down to send Cameroon out of the 2010 World Cup. It was a very exciting match in which both teams had many chances to score. Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o put his team ahead with a 15-metre shot in the 10th minute. Cameroon were all over the Danes in the game’s opening stages. It looked like Denmark would never be able to match the spirit and energy of their opponents. They stayed in the game and Nicklas Bendtner equalized for them from close range on 33 minutes. There were many chances for both teams after the break but it was Denmark who found the net. Veteran winger Dennis Rommedahl placed a lovely shot past the Cameroon ‘keeper in the 61st minute. Denmark held on, despite late Cameroon pressure, to seal all three points.
