There may (1) ___________________ millions who suffer from and worry about baldness. Scientists from universities in the UK and USA say they are close to growing new hair. This is also good news (2) ___________________. They are likely to be (3) ___________________ by any new treatment. The scientists have grown (4) ___________________ in the laboratory. This is different from current treatments, (5) ___________________ hair from the back of the head to cover bald spots and areas at the front of the head. Unlike transplants, the new treatment lets the hair (6) ___________________ in the follicle.
Researcher Colin Jahoda did not say when his research (7) ___________________. He said: "It's closer, but it's (8) ___________________ because…people want…re-growth of hair that's the same shape, the same size, as long as before, the same angle. Some of these are almost (9) ___________________." He did tell people with (10) ___________________ and those (11) ___________________ that baldness will eventually be treatable. His colleague Angela Christiano was also positive, saying the research will "revolutionise" (12) ___________________. She said: "The first step is actually showing that it can be done."
Write five GOOD questions about baldness in the table. Do this in pairs. Each student must write the questions on his / her own paper.
When you have finished, interview other students. Write down their answers.
